This year we hope to encourage parents to come with their children and invite friends or cousins to join their small group. Then that group would stay together throughout their time at the church.

This will at least keep the kids more separate to reduce the possible wide spread of germs and reduce the number of volunteers needed. The activities will be led from the front by a leader and video in the ARC Center around tables.

Groups of family members and friends are encouraged to register together. If you do not have an adult leader who can stay with your group, leave that information blank, and we will find a volunteer for your group. If an individual student wants to come, fill out the student information below, and we will place them in a group.

Return to In-Person Worship Plan for American Reformed Church in Worthington MN

Our consistory met in Special Consistory Meeting, Monday, June 1, 2020. Our purpose was to discuss the possibility of holding corporate worship services again in our church facilities. We are fully committed to providing a gathered worship experience that will give honor and glory to God. Our desire is to Love God and to Love our neighbor as ourselves and to bless our community by taking care in regards to public health guidelines. We will continue to evaluate monitor and update the plan as we journey through this pandemic together. Our plan is to begin corporate worship again on June 14, 2020.

Worship attendees
We encourage people who choose to worship in person to self-monitor and to stay home if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or any other infectious disease. Any one who begins to develop symptoms during a worship service will be allowed to leave the gathering to prevent the spread of illness. Please do not feel as though you need to be in worship at the facility. If you are not ready to worship in a public setting we welcome you to continue to worship with us online or through Cable 3.

Handwashing, Sanitation, Respiratory Etiquette
All members will be encouraged to act in accordance with public health guidelines, including covering coughs and then washing and sanitizing hands. The consistory is strongly encouraging worship participants to wear masks. During our Phase 1 of corporate worship we will not be singing in the worship space with vocalists or as a congregation. All singing will be prerecorded for the congregation to experience reflectively.

Social Distancing
We will practice social distancing by entering the ARC Center from the north and south ARC Center entry doors. Worshippers will be directed into the ARC Center where seating will be set up to allow distancing between immediate families. We ask that you remain at your seat until your family is dismissed. We will exit the sanctuary by dismissal through the east doors of the ARC Center. We will use the occupancy limits of our space according to the guidelines provided. Handshakes and hugs are discouraged. Please bring your own Bibles to worship we will also project the scripture passage for the day on the screen. We will receive tithes and offerings at the exits of the worship space and we will not pass an offering plate. There will not be Nursery, Sunday school or coffee time until we are able to move into the next Phase of gathering.

Regular housekeeping practices of the worship area and the restrooms in the ARC Center will be cleaned and sanitized on a weekly basis. To avoid touching of doors they will be propped open before and after the worship service. We will do all that we can to promote air circulation in the worship space.

Communications and Training
Copies of this statement will be available on the church website and as hardcopies at the church facilities. Any additional updates, communication and training will come by public announcements at worship services and directly as needed.
